2010+ base sync retrofit.
I have all the parts to do the retrofit. I have only found a bit of info from another forum that talks about it. I will do a write up on here. I do have a question before I start if someone has done it or has the knowledge about it please chime in.
I got a sync accessory add on for a 2009 mustang to use the harness. I know on the other site is states not to hook up the red wire if you have a premium acm. It grounds out and shorts. But the thing that I have an issue with is that there are 2 wires, a white and a white and blue stripe. In the 09 install information it says to splice them into the diagnostic port. I'm not sure if it has to be done on 10+. I have not found anything about those wires on any of the retrofits.

Ok so I got everything hooked up and repinned the steering wheel for the missing wires for the sync. I still have no voice or phone buttons. Im thinking the acm that I got didn't have sync. Back to the drawing board.

Oh and I did call a dealer out here and the service manager gave me the third degree about installing parts from another car on mine. He also proceeded to tell me that the sync and acm have nothing to do with each other. And acted like flashing it won't work, but told me they would be more than happy to flash it just to take my money....so I'm buying one of the clone vcm and I'll just do it myself....

So still no luck on this. I swapped out the acm with one that came from a sync car and still no voice or phone. I need to look at the 13 wiring for sync as well as the 10 to see if there is something I'm missing

It maybe the mic. I was trying to use one from the overhead lights but i think that maybe the issue. I will take the mirror and harness off your hands.

I think I found the issue. MY10-12 use the mic in the mirror. The MY 13 uses the mic in the overhead lights. The wiring is different. Here's the issue. The 13 mic has the wires for mic out+ and mic- and shield. The 10 to 12 has on the mic, mic in+ and mic in- and shield. I've attached the wiring diagrams for both. I'm not sure if I can get it to work. I've disassembled the harness and found that on the 13 it has mic in+ at pin 18 in the connector. I added a pin to it. Rewired it and still nothing. Imay need to get the overead light wiring diagram for the 13 to see where it goes. Anyone want to help me figure this out. Or is it a lost cause with the 13 sync module? I can't seem to find any 12s around.

No its not. The base cars don't have the wires for the switches in the clock spring harness. From another site they added pins to the plug and then they went to the harness where there was a add on phone and voice button. They got theirs to work. But the difference between those and mine is I'm using a apim (sync) module from a 13. They used 10-12 modules. They also used a mirror with the sync mic built in. I have a mic that goes in the overhead lights from a 13. I couldn't get it to work either. I tried it from my wifes. She has a escape. Same mirror as the mustangs, f 150s, and some other vehicals. Still couldn't get it to work. Someone told me the sync is different on 10 to 12s vs the 13 and 14s. After looking at the wiring I got from the dealer today. The mic is wired differently then the others.

Funny thing is I have a 2010 base acm. Won't work with out programming. I think it's a 2010 shaker with sat and 6 disk I got from lexiion. And a 2013 acm. Not sure if it came from a sync car or not. I have a 09 mic. Won't work with any think but the 09 and older cars. And a 2013 overhead light with mic. Doesn't seem to work either.im not sure if I'm aloud to post something from another forum but this is the one I was going off of...

I'm not meaning yours. The 10 base from my car won't with out programming. Yours works fine. Just can't get the voice or phone buttons to work. I really do think it's the sync module giving me fits.

So let's recap real quick:
Everything is working, except for the microphone? Like voice commands and hands free phone are not working, but everything else is?
Did you do the wiring below?
