When are 2014 orders closing?

Hi guys, been lurking the forum for a while and this is my first post. Anyways, my question is, when will 2014 orders close? If there is not an exact date set in stone, what would the estimated time be? I am looking to buy this winter, possibly next spring. I'd say my timeframe is November to about March, but I would like the best value for my money and really like the current styling so have decided to go with a 2014. I'd like a base auto GT with Brembo package for sure, possibly Recaros. A dealer told me if I want these my best bet will be to order, looks like this is true. Thanks for your help!

The 2014 order cycle will definitely close sometime in the late 3rd / early 4th quarter of 2013. It will take several months to re-tool the entire assembly line for the 2015 model year. Remember, the order cycle for the 2013's ended in October 2012 and the 2014 order cycle opened in November 2012.

If you have your heart set on the current body style ( like I did - I don't like anything I have seen of the 2015 style ) then you should put your order in sooner than later. That way you are sure to get the exact car / options that you want.

How hard do you think it would be to find a leftover 2014 GT with Brembos on a lot? I'm not dead set on the Recaros, although they are very nice, the Brembos are a must though. I'm open to any colors except red or black. Will I in between a rock and a hard place finding a leftover 14 come December or January? I think October will be a bit to early, I plan on paying cash and wont be ready till November/December most likely.

If you can I would get your 2014 order in ASAP, My dad just ordered his friday, Ford is hosing the 2015 mustang making it look like a carp with a Crapy IRS rear end, that ordereds for the 2014 have been coming in like crazy. Early fall is also when my dealer says it will be shutting down. But ford can closes it anytime they want just like they did with the ford escape. best of luck to you

The longer you wait, the more limited your choices will be. If you will be able to pay in Nov/Dec, why don't you buy the one you want now on a loan, then payoff the loan in full in Nov/Dec? There aren't any prepayment penalties with most lenders. Paying a little bit of interest to get exactly what you want is a good trade off, IMO.

You don't like anything you have seen of the 2015 style!!!!! Huh???? When did you see the 2015 model and its exact specs? Please share the pictures my friend? I would love to see the 2015 mustang. The only thing I have seen is some car dressed in a camo trash bag that could be any car. I seen a bunch of rumor and wish full drawings of what people want.

I must of missed the debut release by Ford for the 2015 stang. Darn, where is that official press release with the actual 2015 stang and its specs?

Another one that's seen the '15? Why haven't I?

And I doubt it's going to be a crappy IRS.........I'd imagine it's going to be a very good IRS.

I agree with kona, we have no idea what the 15 will be. I remember back in the late 80 early 90's the probe body style was rumored to take on the mustang name which only increased sales. I think that is what ford is doing right now. They will throw out the worst looking euro trash styling mustang and talk about how they want to make it a world car but I'm not buying it. This vehicle will not look like that crap you have seen posted on the Internet. They are just boosting sales so that those that want a mustang order sooner rather than putting it off like I have for 9 months.
With that said I placed an order cause I'm not taking any chances that I'm wrong and I love the styling of the 14's. and if the 15's or 16's are that good then ill trade the 14 in.

I find it funny how some people wont buy the ’15 because it will have IRS.

Yep. Every performance car in the world has had IRS for over a decade, other than the Mustang and last F-Bodies, yet people wax nostalgic about them like Ford is brilliant for hanging onto the SRA. I have my Mustang despite it, not because of it.

I agree about IRS. If its done right and I expect it will be it should be fantastic in the new mustang. I liked the 2014 style and the timing was just right for me but down the road I may trade to a newer one. IRS should be better than the live axle that is a ails me today, no reason not to embrace it

Its one thing to say you don't like the 15 stang once Ford releases the pictures of the new car. Until then, you can't not like the 2015 mustang because no pictures have been released of the actual car. You may not like some of the rumored renditions of it but how about waiting until the actually 2015 model is released before not actually liking it.

Wait until it comes out and then hate it!

6969,

I ordered my 14 GT Premium on June 20th. When I did, the dealer told me that the ordering banks would be closing in the beginning of July, 2013. Hope that helps.

That's much earlier than I was expecting. If true, then I sure hope my ordered car doesn't get trashed in a train or car carrier accident on the way to the dealer, because there will be no reordering a replacement!

I'm glad I got my order in while I had a chance--I had originally been hoping to wait until September, in hopes that Ford would reveal the 2015 by then, so I'd have something to compare it to.

It will be interesting for somebody to confirm when they have stopped taking orders for the 2014.

But..........it's the beginning of July 2013 now! I'm sure we would have had a more official steer before now, if that's really the case

All I said was that I have not liked anything that I have seen of the 2015 style. Of course I don't know the "exact specs" of the 2015's - nobody outside of Ford does. The fact is that the retro styling of the S197 platform is going away. Which is why I suggested to the OP that if he really likes the current styling then he should pull the trigger on a 2014. Another benefit of a 2014 vs a 2015 is that all the bugs have been worked out of the current platform and the aftermarket is already full of products for the current models.

If you know the exact car you want... Do not wait! I wanted a 13 ordered at the last run of MY 2013. Placed my order the final week only to be sent a EMail informing me my dealer was out of allocations and my order was denied. Felt like I got dropped kicked in the gut because at the time everyone thought the 14 MY was to be new body style. My dealer informed me a few days later there would be no changes for the 14 Mustang that would effect my order... Bottom line... Would not wait if I were you.
