Julie, did you see my post from the other day about painting the hood and hood scoop and using vinyl for the rest to save some money? It would work and then you could always paint the rest later.

Acadian's car is one of the best examples of what the stripes should look like on the 05, especially why you need to stripe the hood scoop.

Thanks. The key to striping an '04 IMO is making the stripes smaller so they fit just inside of the scoop. And you can vinyl that easily. I'll post a couple SN95 pics below with stripes and scoops.

I appreciate that, John.

And if you have an '05 with a scoop and want to use vinyl for the stripes... that's a very good point. You'll need to have the hood scoop painted the body color anyway... so just have them paint the stripes on it at the same time. Then, vinyl the hood underneath and put the scoop on.

Edit: Actually, that's the wrong order there. Vinyl the sripes on your car first... then bring the car and scoop to the painter and have them color match the vinyl stripe color.

Those do look like 8" to me also. Either get 6" stripes if you like a big gap, or 8" (I think) with a small gap. Personally I like the latter.

I found this pic on a site selling 6" stripes. If these here are 6", my guess is the ones above are 8".

I like that look a lot. Personally though, I would do black on shadow grey. I like the more subtle look between grey and blacl. But then again, I am a bit partial.

Make sure though if you get stripes to do your entire car... bumper to bumper. Adrenalin (the vinyl guru) will tell you the same thing.

By the way, are you going to put the stripes on yourself, or do you have someone who can do it? If you are near New Orleans, I can recommend someone.

julie, have you looked in the SN 95 forum
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showforum=92

There might be more examples of what you are looking for since yours in not an 05.

My Solution of course would be remove the hood scoop, stripe the car with Vinyl and have the hood scoop stripes painted to match the vinyl.

Thanks. Your car is looking pretty sweet too. Gotta love the red accents on MG.
